Full STEAM Detroit Explorer Camp
Ages: 9-12
Dates: June 26-30
Time: 10AM-4PM
Explore a selection of Full STEAM Detroit's: Career Readiness, STEM & Music Production curriculums in a fun, kid-friendly environment, to spark & grow interest in technology, with emphasis on Software Engineering, Esports, Music & Video Production.
This one-of-a-kind camp includes Minecraft Coding (Python & Javascript), Roblox Entrepreneurship, 3D Printing, Esports Training & how to create and produce your own music.
Daily Camp Schedule:
DAY 1: Music Production
- Learn how to create & record live music with state-of-the-art tools & technology including Reason interfaced with a 32-Channel Beringer Mixing Board, using both MacStudio and Windows 11 on an Alienware gaming desktop, taught by professional sound engineers & musicians.

DAY 2: Minecraft Coding
- Kids will learn real Java code while making a custom axe that shoots fireballs as well as a repulsion shield that shoots enemies into the air!
- Learn foundational computer science training using Java and Minecraft.
- Covering key coding concepts such as basic conditional statements, loops, and functions, we build a series of progressively more rigorous projects that provide a solid foundation in Java programming. Students will build a number of custom mods.
DAY 3: Roblox Entrepreneur Essentials
- Build, Code, test and then publish your own Roblox games. From building your own Obby to launching a tycoon game, we will teach you all the skills you need to build games in Roblox Studio.
- Campers will learn how to make their own versions of their favorite Roblox Games.
- The safe way to code and play Roblox. Online safety is at the core of what we do at Skill Samurai. We’re completely compatible with Roblox’s parental controls, including disabling chat capabilities, publishing moderati.
DAY 4: 3d Printing Essentials/Equipment Training
- Learn about mathematical frameworks for modeling objects in two dimensions and in three dimensions
- Learn how to model objects using CAD
- Learn about design for manufacturing
- Walk through instruction of equipment used in the creative lab
DAY 5: Esports Tournament/Camp Wrap-up & Parent Presentations)
- Compete in a mock Esports tournament in the Full STEAM Esports Tournament Center
- Minecraft World

Music Production & Sound Engineering Camp
Ages: 9-12
Dates: June 26-30
Time: 10AM-4PM
The Music Production & Sound Engineering Camp enables students to become proficient with the key HW & SW components required to create a modern, cloud-based, music production. The camp is project & team based, with extensive hand-on time using the professional studio equipment, performing a variety of leadership roles.
Students will spend a significant amount of time working directly with digital audio workstations, recording multiple audio inputs (vocals/guitars/keyboards/drums/Rane One, etc) on state-of-the-art equipment, taught by professionals.
Daily Camp Schedule:
DAY 1: Music Studio Intro
- Explore the inner workings & key components of a recording studio, including…audio/visual processors, commercial amplifiers, 40-channel digital mixer, studio monitors, audio interfaces, digital audio workstations, computer networking, and more!
- Students & teachers will share their musical tastes and begin planning the song that will be created throughout the week.
DAY 2: Begin Recording Project
- Each group will brainstorm, select, and begin production on a work based typically on a particular genre of music, an artist or perhaps an individual album, from which to draw primary inspiration.
- The project includes a visual component such as a music video, video game, movie theme, etc.
DAY 3: Primary Mixing & Recording Day
- Complete production of the project
- Start mixing the project and learning how to use EQ's, Audio compression, Revebs, etc
DAY 4: Post Production/Song Submission
- Complete mixing and adding final production to the recordings
- Discuss & Plan commercial publishing strategies…Apple Music, Spotify, etc • Start working visual aspect of project
- Complete visual component & begin integration with music output
DAY 5:Wrap Up / Final Presentation
- Complete audio-visual integration
- Prepare final presentations and product output
- Perform the week’s musical creations in front of family & friends
- Parent review session & Pizza Party with students and Full STEAM Detroit staff
- Song recorded with mix camp created
